This July, Calgary will come alive with the color, flavor, and energy of Mexico as Mexifest 2025 returns to the newly renovated Eau Claire Plaza. From July 4 to 6, festivalgoers will enjoy three days of unforgettable experiences, including authentic cuisine, live music, traditional dance, and the thrill of lucha libre wrestling — all in one family-friendly outdoor event.
A highlight of the festival is its vibrant Mexican street food scene, with vendors serving everything from tacos and churros to Calgary’s most talked-about birria from El Gringo Loco. With every bite, visitors are transported to the streets of Mexico, where flavor is a celebration in itself.
Entertainment is front and center at Mexifest. A full-size lucha libre ring will feature electrifying performances from top Mexican wrestlers, including Emperador Azteca, Radioactivo, Texano Jr., Supernova, and a standout female luchadora. Their high-flying moves and dramatic flair promise nonstop action and crowd-pleasing excitement.
On the musical side, the festival presents a diverse lineup. Antidoping, one of Mexico’s most respected reggae bands, will bring their powerful mix of roots reggae, ska, and Latin rhythms. Fans of traditional music will also be thrilled by Los Cadetes de Linares, icons of música norteña whose legacy continues to resonate across generations.
